Another massive UK Euromillions lottery win

There is yet another big UK Euromillions lottery winner, and now the third largest on a ticket purchased in the UK. The Euromillions winning ticket has a £39.7 million jackpot payout attached to it and as yet no one knows who the winner or winners might be – although the National Lottery HQ Camelot have announced that the winner/s have contacted them and the claim is currently being verified. Should the claim be legitimate then the very lucky lottery winner or winners could in effect have the money in their own bank by Monday morning.

Following in the footsteps of Nigel Page

The winning ticket managed to match the numbers called in the Friday night Euromillions lottery draw, which were 8, 16, 18, 37, 43, and the Lucky Star numbers 2 and 6. Readers will remember that we wrote about the last UK big Euromillions lottery winner last month when Nigel Page and his partner Justine managed to win a record breaking £56m in the European lottery draw.

Emmerdale love a Euromillions winner story too?

We have just heard gossip that Emmerdale could possibly feature a story line about a Euromillions lottery win. The new Emmerdale story as told in the Daily Mirror (which is currently being denied by the Emmerdale producers) is all very ‘hush hush’ at the moment but is expected to feature a family who are troublesome but have won a mega lottery win, the story is expected to develop when the obnoxious but very wealthy family even try to buy the Woolpack.

A Massive £3.6m National lottery jackpot is about to remain unclaimed as there are only five days left before the deadline to claim the massive lottery win. Check your purses, wallets, back of the sofa, husbands special hiding places because literally ‘it could be you’! The massive lottery jackpot was officially won in September last year, however no one ever came forward to claim the lotto win and if they don’t do so very soon then the whole amount will go to the lottery good causes fund, leaving one lotto multi millionaire some what poorer.

Deadline 22nd March to make a claim

The official deadline for the National lottery jackpot claim is Monday 22nd March, if the lottery winner does not contact Camelot by 5.30pm that day then they will no longer be eligible to collect their lotto winnings. It really doesn’t bear thinking about that someone out there is a National lottery multi-millionaire but doesn’t even know it.

We urge all our readers to contact friends, family and distant relatives to tell them to check their old National lottery tickets for a possible win. The National lottery draw was on23rd September and the lotto winning numbers that were called 23, 25, 28, 41, 46, 47. It is believed that the lotto winner could possibly live in the Inverness area as this is where the ticket was purchased.

National Lottery hopeful winner will be found

A National Lottery spokesperson said of the win "We are still hopeful that someone will come forward at the last minute to claim the money.
"We're urging everyone to check their old tickets again or look anywhere a missing Lotto ticket could be hiding".

Obviously money going to good causes is admirable but how gutted would you be if you found the missing lotto ticket a few days after the deadline had expired?

The People’s Millions 2010 will be providing lottery funding of up to £50,000 taken from the BIG (Big Lottery Fund) to help 75 worthy causes that have been voted for by the general public. The £3.8m worth of awards will be allocated -subject to sufficient votes being received - to local community projects that have been shortlisted by the People’s Millions and the Big Lottery Fund partnership.

Entry forms for lottery funding available now

The projects will need to convince the partnership that the project that they are seeking funding for is both worthwhile and viable and will aid the local community. Applications are being invited for entries to receive the funds which have been collected through lottery ticket sales. Entry forms for those interested in nominating a community project can be found now at the People’s Millions site. All applications must be returned to the partnership by the closing date of May 14th, the partnership will then assess the merits of each application and will release details of the shortlisted projects during October 2010. Final project selections will be screened on ITV during November 2010 when the public will get the opportunity to vote for those that they believe are the most worth of funding from the Big lottery Fund.

Lots of worthwhile causes helped already

There have been many worthwhile causes helped by the Big Lottery Fund, in fact over £21.4 m has already been spent on community projects such as the refurb project of a local bands hall, a yacht specially adapted to accommodate those with disabilities and many more causes from health, sport, education and the arts etc. The Big Lottery Fund is able to help the worthwhile causes as they are able to collect 28p from every £1 spent by the public on lottery tickets.

Never too late to have a massive lottery win

Never give up hope of a big lottery win, as a news story of a 97 year old lottery winner last week proved that it is never too late to be a massive lottery winner. The lucky winner Nguyen Van Het from Vietnam is 97 years old and has won 7.6 billion dong which equates to about £260,000, which in Vietnam is an absolute fortune. Het was able to purchase 6 Tay Ninh Province lottery tickets with money given to him by a neighbour as a present called ‘Lucky Money’ in celebration of the Lunar New Year or Tet.

Giving money away to well wishers

Nguyen Van Het went to bed and dreamt that he would win the lottery little knowing that this particular dream would come true – with each of the six tickets being a winner. Unfortunately the lottery win did not bring out the best characteristics in the local neighbourhood with one neighbour who was meant to be helping Het to check his numbers telling him he had only won a small amount of cash and a huge mob surrounding his home asking for some of the money. The news of the lottery win quickly spread amongst the locals in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 11 and Het was rapidly seen handing out money to all the well wishers until the authorities and a close neighbour stepped in to stop him giving away all of his new found wealth. The quick thinking of the authorities and neighbour meant that Het was able to safely deposit the remainder of the lottery fortune around 5 billion dong (£172,250) into a local bank.

‘Luckily’ local people are keen to help him to spend lottery cash!

The reason for so much attention by local people on Het’s big lottery win is because the average annual income per person is only £655. Sadly many of the people who had asked for handouts from Het claiming to be relatives are believed to be complete strangers and were guilty of taking advantage of the elderly man’s kindness. Nguyen Van Het is quoted in an article in the Daily Mail as admitting that he will ‘have a lot of trouble spending the money before he dies’. It seems that the local ‘well wishers’ in Ho Chi Minh City were all maybe trying to save him from this trouble!

Body of £20million lottery winner found buried under concrete slab

A £20million American lottery winner who has been missing for nine months was recently found buried under a concrete slab, the apparent victim of a callous shooting. Abraham Shakespeare went missing without trace last year but family did not report him missing immediately because they believed he had gone on a jaunt to the Caribbean. A tropical destination was sadly not where Mr Shakespeare ended up, instead his badly decomposed remains were found under the slab in the grounds of a home belonging to a boyfriend of a close female friend.

Lottery jackpot did not bring victim happiness

Mr Shakespeare’s big lottery win had sadly not found him happiness and he had often lamented on how miserable he was to his brother Robert Brown, saying on many occasions that 'I'd have been better off broke.' Mr Shakespeare has been happy to share his good fortune with others and had lived the lottery lifestyle by buying a large expensive house. None of this however made the ex-assistant trucker happy. Mr Shakespeare aged 47, was not well educated and also had been in trouble with the police prior to his big lottery win.

Woman accused of murder was financial advisor to deceased

Dorice "DeeDee" Moore has been charged in connection with the shooting of Abraham Shakespeare. The 37 year old suspect was the financial advisor to the dead lottery winner, and it has been reported that she had transferred many of the dead man’s assets to her name. Elizabeth Walker, the deceased man’s mother regarded Moore as a friend of the family and has been quoted as saying in connection with her arrest "I can hardly explain how I feel. It really hurts." Moore herself has tried to implicate others in the murder of Mr Shakespeare including a local drug dealer, a local attorney and even her own 14 year old son. As yet Moore is the only person who has been charged in connection with Mr Shakespeare’s murder.

National Lottery reveal Euromillions £56k Lottery winners

The big Euromillions lottery winners have just had their identities unveiled by the National Lottery HQ Camelot, the extremely lucky couple Nigel Page and Justine Laycock from Cirencester, Gloucestershire have just scooped a £56 million win making them the biggest lottery winners in the UK. Mr Page was clearly experiencing a run of good luck as he had already won £55 with a lotto ticket, then when he logged on to his National lottery account on Saturday morning to check the Euromillions lottery result he found that he had won half the massive £113 million Euromillions jackpot too.

Big win not likely to keep Nigel’s feet on ground

Mr Page age 43 had been jokingly boasting of his possible lottery success to his daughter that morning at breakfast little knowing that in fact he had become the UK’s biggest lottery winner overnight. Mr Page who is a daredevil sky diver in his spare time and his partner of 8 years Ms Laycock intend to use the money wisely and hope to give back something to the local community as well as their friends and family with their massive Euromillions win. Mr Page’s one personal extravagance will be to build a Sky Diving centre complete with wind tunnel to help with his sky-diving hobby, but he and his partner intend to build a house and take a much needed holiday with some of the cash too.

Bacon sandwiches to celebrate

Mr Page who is in property maintenance and Ms Laycock an estate agent, celebrated their record breaking lottery win with bacon sandwiches with their three children in a local Waitrose café whilst they waited for representatives from the National Lottery HQ, Camelot – however in their dreams they had imagined celebrating a big lottery win slightly differently with exploding confetti and ticker tape. The celebrations are not likely to stop for sometime for the UK’s biggest lottery winners as they decide how to spend their new found fortune. The ecstatic couple propose to make a few purchases include a BMW car and a pony for daughter Ella aged 12, and a rather more unusual purchase could include a tarantula spider.

www.national-lottery.co.uk

National Lottery and the 2012 Olympics

Many National Lottery players may not be aware that when they take part in the weekly lottery games - whether online lottery or tickets purchased instore - that they will be helping the creation of five of the UK’s sporting venues that will be used in the 2012 Olympics. In fact an amazing £2.2 billion will be raised by National Lottery ticket sales, and £750 million will be directly from special National Lottery 2012 games.

Building venues and athletes with National Lottery cash

The National Lottery good causes cash is helping to build a special Hockey and Aquatics centre, a handball arena, velopark and of course not forgetting the Olympic Stadium. It isn’t only the venues that are being built using National Lottery Good Causes cash, athletes themselves are also benefitting from money raised by National Lottery ticket sales. Some of the athletes being helped are big names such as Ben Ainslie and Sir Chris Hoy but others are lesser known sports stars of the future. The one thing they have in common is that they all receive backing from National Lottery players for training, coaching and medical support etc. Without this aid some would be unable to take part in the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games. There are over 1400 athletes currently being assisted this way and all are hoping to achieve medals in the London 2012 Olympic games.

Big pat on the back for National Lottery game players

So come on all you National Lottery players, fulfil your philanthropic side - Buy a lottery ticket and give yourself a big pat on the back for helping to make our athletes fit to compete and just as importantly helping to build the venues that all the nations will be competing in.

www.national-lottery.co.uk

News of the British Euromillions £26.1m lottery winner have now been announced and Lotto Hideout can reveal that George Sturt aged 76 from Dorking in Surrey is the lucky winner. George who refuses - even in spite of his big win – to give up his day job as a taxi driver because he enjoys the job so much -shares the win with his three children, Gary, Colin and Teresa. Widower Mr Sturt plans to give a lot of his share of the cash to charitable causes including cancer research as his wife Maureen sadly died 6 months ago after battling with cancer.

Family thought it was a joke

His grown up children could not believe that they had won the jackpot when Mr Sturt first informed them as he is, reportedly well known by all the family as a bit of a joker. The siblings and Mr Sturt pay£4 each per week to participate in the lottery never thinking for one minute that they would be the lucky winners of such a huge sum. Each one of the family members will receive over £6m each which should provide sufficient funds to organise a big family knees up which is now to be planned to celebrate their good fortune.

Happens to other people …..

The part time cabbie has eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren who are also likely to benefit from the family’s new found wealth. Mr Stur’s son Colin, a builder is quoted in the Sun as saying “I am honestly still in a state of shock.
"This sort of thing happens to other people and not people like us - it is absolutely crazy.
And "It will be difficult to go back to building houses when you can afford to buy any house that you want."

Staff at Lotto Hideout are all moving to lucky Ilford!

Estate agents in Ilford must be doing a roaring trade with prospective new residents who are looking to win the lottery? The reason for a possible interest in a move to Ilford in Essex is because according to the National Lottery players with the IG postcode are more likely to win big than any other area in the UK. The results of the latest poll carried out by the National Lottery highlights how lucky the residents of Ilford have been in the National Lottery since the last results were released in 2006. One in 6,722 of tickets sold to Ilford resident result in a major lotto, lottery or scratchcard jackpot win, the national average however is one ticket in 7,366 ticket sales ending in a big win.

Second choice for a move could be Newcastle!

Second place in the National Lottery luckiest town poll is Newcastle with a still pretty impressive one in 6,972 tickets sold in the NE postal district resulting in a big lottery win. Slipping slightly from first place in the last poll to third this year is Medway with a still respectable one in 6,972 ticket holders scooping an impressive lottery jackpot win. The full details of the National Lottery luckiest places is told in the News of the World, where it is revealed that Kent is actually pretty lucky too as they have no fewer than three postcodes that are featured in the ten luckiest towns list.

Maybe we will just all stay at home and see if our luck is in

Readers however will be pleased to know that even if they don’t live in one of the top ten of the luckiest towns that no matter where they live that they are still just as likely to be as lucky as the next person, as there have been approximately 20 millionaires for each postcode since 1994. During this time there have been an amazing £36 billion in jackpot prizes paid out to lucky lottery winners.

The lucky Euromillions numbers called on Friday made one UK resident £26 million richer. The huge Euromillions jackpot prize is in fact split between a lottery player in France and the British player, and this magnificent lottery win is the fourth largest in UK lottery history. The numbers on Friday were 11, 26, 29, 49, 50 and as yet the lucky winner is unknown. The National Lottery spokesperson said of the massive Euromillions win "We are delighted to have another huge Euromillions winner here in the UK, following so closely to last November's record breaking jackpot winners”.
"We have plenty of champagne on ice and look forward to welcoming the ticket holder into the millionaires' club.

One winner or a syndicate?

Of course this latest big UK lottery win comes hot on the heels of Les and Sam Scadding, regular readers will remember our article of early November last year when it was still unknown the identities of the winners of the £45.5 million lottery fortune. News of the big win gets us all in the Lotto Hideout office wondering who the winner or winners might be, is it a syndicate or one lucky winner? Whichever it is felt that Monday will provide more news as reports state that the winners has come forward and is currently going through the National Lottery verification process.

Legs Eleven the luckiest UK Euromillions number?

One thing that both of the big Euromillions winners have in common is the number 11 as both sets of winning Euromillions numbers included number eleven, so if you are thinking of having a go yourself next Friday then selecting this number might help in the luck department!
www.national-lottery.co.uk
